Dear Parent,
Following the confirmation of places for September 2025, I am delighted to welcome you and your child as they embark on their journey at Treviglas Academy. Transitioning from primary to secondary school is a significant milestone, filled with both excitement and nerves, but rest assured, we are here to support you every step of the way.
You are joining Treviglas at an exciting time. We are among the top performing schools in Cornwall and the £8,500,000 refurbishment project will be completed when you start with us. We have just completed a full inspection from Ofsted and although I am not permitted to share the overall result yet, I can assure you that the report captures what a great school Treviglas Academy is.
I have attached the results of the 'Parent View' part of the inspection so you can see how well supported the school is by its parents and community, you can also view the results here:
https://parentview.ofsted.gov.
It's entirely normal for both you and your child to feel a mix of emotions as you prepare for this transition. Many students experience similar feelings each year, but as they settle in, they quickly find their place and forge new friendships. There will be ample opportunity for students to get to know the school and staff before they start in September and this transition programme will be shared with you all in the very near future.
Understanding what is expected of you is key to starting any secondary school well. Our core values of Kindness, Ambition, and Responsibility encapsulate our expectations, and we encourage all our students to embody these values in their daily lives.
Throughout your child's first week, they will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, make new friends, and navigate the school building. If they find themselves feeling lost, there will always be support available, including their Head of Year, form tutor, fellow students, and subject teachers.
I encourage you and your child to focus on the exciting opportunities that lie ahead at Treviglas Academy and to set goals for their success. Please look at our facebook page to get an idea of what they can expect to be involved with in their time at Treviglas.
I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet you all in person. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Kind regards,
James Rogers
