Our Mission, Vision and Values

Our students are kind, work hard and thrive in our school. We strongly believe in giving our students the best possible start in life. To ensure that we achieve this our students are taught exceptionally well by staff that care deeply about them.

QUALITY OF EDUCATION: STRONG TEACHING & LEARNING

Our positive attitude, high quality teaching and tailored support ensures that all of our students will succeed.

In school, our exceptional staff have the biggest influence on student achievement and so we support them with a framework called the Tools for Improvement that safeguards the learning taking place in a calm and purposeful environment. Staff present subject matter clearly and provide focused, direct feedback to support student progress and inform future learning.

QUALITY OF EDUCATION: CURRICULUM, QUALITY ASSESSMENT & OUTCOMES

Our curriculum is constructed ambitiously. The learning journey reflects the national curriculum and beyond. It is designed so students can make the most of local, national and global labour market opportunities. The school offers a coherently planned curriculum which has breadth and balance, ensuring students maintain high academic standards within an inclusive environment. We know that our students do best when our staff and families work together and are actively involved in the learning journey.
BEHAVIOUR & ATTITUDES

Everything we do is driven by kindness and our four Cornerstones represent the values we share with our students, staff, parents and carers. We expect our school community to attend every day dressed smartly, be well-organised and properly equipped. We ask that everyone has a commitment to learning, showing determination, care and effort. We ask of all our students that they show manners and empathy for others in the language they use and the things that they do. Every member of the community values themselves and takes every opportunity to participate, represent and lead.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our specialist and highly trained pastoral team provide outstanding support for our young people. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we foster with students, families and key professional partners. We are heavily invested in the importance of a strong careers provision and regard PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) as a critical component of our ambitious curriculum. Our pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy, safe and prepared for life and work. We also cover important issues such as democracy, British Values and financial literacy. This ensures that our students are able to make informed decisions and become active citizens in modern Britain.
