RSHE

The aims of relationships and sex education (RSHE) at The Roseland Multi Academy Trust schools are to:

  • Provide a framework in which sensitive discussions can take place.

  • Prepare students for puberty and give them an understanding of sexual development and the importance of health, hygiene and consent.

  • Help students develop feelings of self-respect, confidence and empathy.

  • Create a positive culture around issues of sexuality and relationships.

  • Teach students the correct words to describe themselves and their bodies. We encourage using accurate biological and medical terms rather than slang. This helps students talk clearly and confidently about their bodies, feelings, and any health concerns they may have.

  • And perhaps most importantly, RSHE lessons empower all students with the vital life skills to confidently navigate the real world while being safe, healthy and happy.

Below, you will find our learning journey for RSHE.  You will also see an example of one of our Year 7 lessons.
